Decision taken to empower adolescent girls of Anganwadi in Junagadh. MoU between ICDS Junagadh and Aparajitha Foundation for the development of adolescent girls. Life skills training will be provided under the Tim Tim Tara program.
Junagadh: An important non-monetary agreement has been signed between the ICDS Department, Junagadh and Aparajitha Foundation (Madurai) with the aim of enhancing the overall development, life skills, and self-confidence of adolescent girls aged 15 to 18 registered in Anganwadi centers of Junagadh district.
This agreement was signed by Vatsalaben Dave, Program Officer, ICDS Junagadh.
Under this partnership, Aparajitha Foundation will conduct life skills seminars, summer camps, and training programs for adolescent girls by bearing the expenses through its CSR fund.
Under the Tim Tim Tara program, training will be provided through audio-visual media, games, and stories on 10 key life skills recommended by UNICEF and WHO, including decision-making, problem-solving, stress management, and self-awareness.
Roonam Kaushik, Director – Global Reach, Aparajitha Foundation, and Mihir Shukla, State Project Coordinator, stated that the organization has been operating in Gujarat since 2012 and is working on life skills initiatives in more than 54,000 schools.
Through this project, the organization aims to develop leadership skills among adolescent girls of Junagadh and provide them with a new direction for their future.
